Planning for 2011 – Is “Hope” a Part of Your Business Plan?

I have a few favorite quotes that relate to our business and the idea of “planning.” And yes, it’s that time of year again. Very soon we have to start the arduous task of thinking through and mapping out our “plan” on how we reach our budgets and sales goals for 2011. At M&A we call it developing your “Map to Success”. We use the word “map” because it implies a specific and clear path to getting where you need to go. But how many of us honestly know how we will get there?

Now’s the Time to Talk to Clients about 2011

Meeting with a high level marketing executive at a major national banks last month, I found that most of his plans were already in place for fiscal 2011, which begins January 1.

This doesn’t mean that there are no opportunities; in fact, regional budgets have not been solidified at this point.¬†This timing provides the perfect scenario to talk about developing fully integrated marketing opportunities for them that will engage them with the key consumers and businesses they want to reach.
